I’ll be honest – I was scared for this flight from Seattle to Singapore. It would be my first 13.5 hour flight in economy (I know, princess much?) and it was also basically double the length of my previous longest economy flight: 7 hours. I was worried and thought this flight would convince me to dive even deeper into travel hacking and never ride long-haul economy again. I shouldn’t have worried. This flight on EVA Air was great and solidified my place as an international economy passenger.
First of all EVA provides amenities I’ve never seen in American economy: A real, thick blanket (thicker than Delta’s First blanket), a small pillow, giant personal TVs, outlets and USBs for charging, toothbrushes and lotions in the bathroom and an abundance of food. My only small critiques would be the selection of Hollywood films (20 options are a little small with 32 hours of flights, but that doesn’t include TV shows or music) and that their wine pours are minuscule (though they are free!). I found a way around it though: order beer and they’ll give you the can. Overall I had a great time with EVA Air – they helped all these hours of flying be more than bearable with their amenities and efficiency. Until next time!
