I Was Supposed To Retire Today: How FIRE Can Go Better Than Forecast

This milestone is wild to me. I was looking through my old spreadsheets and realized that in 2015, I originally calculated that I would be able to retire in the first few months of 2025.

That was my goal based on my salary at the time and my spending living in Manhattan. I calculated that I would be able to retire in 2025 with $500,000 at 35 years old. Continue reading “I Was Supposed To Retire Today: How FIRE Can Go Better Than Forecast”

So let’s take a sneak a peek into our travel bags!

How I Stay Organized While Enjoying Life

I’ve encountered a problem in retirement that I never had while working. Maybe I’m alone in this, but when I was working, I was ALWAYS aware of my calendar – I would look at it every few minutes it seems, to know what meeting I needed to prep for next during a work day. I would also glance at it often to make sure I knew what social appointments I had on a weekend and – more depressingly – how much time I had before I had to return to work 🙂 .
