So I wasn’t originally going to write a post about this experience, but I found the small differences of how spas work in the US compared to Thailand interesting and wanted to give people a heads up in case they were interested in going to one. I also enjoyed this experience so much that wanted to share it with y’all and even semi-jokingly told my Mom that we should come to Thailand whenever we want to go to the spa since we can travel hack biz class flights for $20 to get here in style. Review: The World’s Longest Flight – 19 Hours In Singapore Air Business Class
It was February 2020 and Young Purple was naive 🙂 . As the world started to shut down, my Mom and I were discussing a trip to Thailand we had been planning for years that was going to take place in February 2021. As of February 2020 (when we had no idea that this pandemic would last more than two years), we decided to start booking our trip. How To Get A Thai Visa & The Thailand Pass Entry Process In The Age Of Covid
Hello from Thailand! We made it safely across the pond to our first international destination since 2019 and are having a great time settling in. Getting here was understandably a whole process during a pandemic. How I Read 52 Non-Fiction Books In 52 Weeks
In 2021 I set a wild goal: to read 52 non-fiction books in the 52 weeks of the year. I did this as a result of feeling like I struggled to even finish a non-fiction book before retirement. The list of things I’m curious about and want to learn is long, and I thought this ambitious goal would be helpful and fun (what an idiot I was 😉 ). The Month Of Family: December 2021 Recap
I named this month “The Month Of Family,” but am now realizing that’s not completely accurate. I spent this month with my partner’s family who I have co-opted into my “Found Family” since we’re not legally related. Continue reading “The Month Of Family: December 2021 Recap”
Slow Travel Review: Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA – The Land Of Chili Peppers
A theme has emerged since I started doing these Slow Travel Reviews: I need to have less assumptions and be more open, and living in Santa Fe, New Mexico for the month, continued to drive this lesson home. Because Santa Fe is in the Southwest I assumed it was:
- Flat
- Hot
- Void of Trees
